Presentation

Literature, Arts and Transcultures is a research group that assumes the interrelation and circulation of literatures and arts from a global and non-nationalist perspective, considering different modes of communication and intercultural and international literary relations. Thereby, it accepts intercultural scientific research, seeking to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the area of Global Studies regarding artistic production, mediation, reception and circulation, considering new emerging
forms, such as digital cultures. Its members are committed to the theoretical and methodological problems around global literature and world-literature, inter-art studies and the interrelation of cultures within the social, cultural and educational systems.

Objectives

  • To strengthen the strategic framework of the CEG-UAb as an interdisciplinary centre.
  • To reflect on the reciprocal relationship of local literatures and cultures with global literature and culture.
  • To participate in theoretical and empirical research on issues involving literature, culture and technology.
  • To contribute to knowledge that can break ground in the issues facing humanity in world today.
  • To collaborate with the Centre’s remaining research groups in problem solving and reflection on the role of literature and culture in the global world and in relation to other areas of knowledge.
