Aim
Following WSD’22 and WSD’25 editions, the International Seminar WSD’26 aims to serve as a discussion forum between researchers, PhD students, and local and national agencies from diverse scientific backgrounds on the topics of sustainability and development at global and local levels, water availability, supply, and reuse, as well as the risks and capacities of local communities to cope with this global problem.
WSD’26 is organised in partnership by a network of universities and research centres from Portugal, Mozambique, Morocco, and Brazil, including higher education institutions, geographic and environmental research centres, rural and sustainability observatories, and postgraduate programs in sustainability and development. The partnership also actively involves doctoral and postgraduate students, reinforcing the event’s scientific, educational, and international dimension.
Online participation will be fully supported by Universidade Aberta.
On-site activities and presentations will take place at Universidade Aberta (PT), Universidade SAVE (MZ), including a half-day (max. 25 participants) fieldtrip to the coastal area of Inhambane, and the Faculté Polydisciplinaire de Safi (Cadi Ayyad University – MA).
