Universidade Aberta has a clear strategic direction towards flexibility and adaptation to change, innovation, sustainability of its mission and the quality of its distance learning and eLearning project. Internal Quality Assurance System (SIGQ) is a priority and a constant concern.

SIGQ is internally understood as an integral part of the institution and is fully aligned with the University Strategic Plan.

UAb identified the processes required for the implementation of the SIGQ_UAb to which the Referrals are associated in order to ensure guidance by the principle of continuous improvement, according to SIGQ model:
