Shaping the future: Beyond Change

The 2025 edition has just ended and we thank all participants for their presence, kindness and sharing of knowledge and experiences!

From June 17 to 20, Universidade Aberta welcomed around three dozen of representatives from European universities for a week of international exchange under the Erasmus+ program.

Participants from 21 institutions across 14 European countries – Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Spain, and Turkey – had the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of Universidade Aberta, its organisational structure, and its innovative pedagogical model. The program included meetings with representatives from various academic and administrative units, fostering dialogue and the sharing of good practices.

The program counted with the participation of professors and non-academic staff of Universidade Aberta, that contributed for the participants to have a deeper insight on teaching and learning issues at a distance education university like Universidade Aberta, as well as its organic structure and its most important concerns: research and open science; open educational resources; open repositories; quality, innovation and digital transformation; microcredentials; sustainability; multimedia production.

The week ended at Ceia Palace, the University headquarters, where participants visited the Multimedia and Digital Production Services and shared a brief testimony in video about their experience at Universidade Aberta of Portugal:
